Interrupting Transmission of Vaccine Derived Poliovirus Using Community Volunteers

• Using an established program with a large cadre of Community Volunteers greatly enhanced the speed and impact of the CGPP COVID-19 Response
• Using trusted community members to promote COVID-19 messages enhanced acceptance
• CGPP significantly raised awareness on COVID-19 leading to Behavioral Change using a mixture of House-to-House education, Compound meetings, Male Peer Educators, Motorized campaigns and engagement of Religious and Traditional Leaders
• Stigma and discrimination continue to adversely effect the Nigeria COVID-19 Response
