Community-based surveillance has of late become an ideal model to avail timely and descriptive information regarding significant health problems and real-time events that can help in rapid and effective prevention, detection,
and response to communicable disease outbreaks. Many diseases (Zoonotic) occurring in rural mobile populations in critical and hard-toreach cross-border areas are often underreported. Due to this, CGP-GHS is implementing Community Based Surveillance (CBS) on Priority Zoonotic diseases (PZDs) and Vaccine-Preventable Disease (VPDs) in these rural mobile populations through highly committed community disease reporters (CDRs) and community health volunteers (CHVs) .
