Strategies to Immunize Children in Conflict Affected Inaccessible Areas

The CGPP has effectively applied multi-pronged approaches to vaccinate children in hard to reach and conflict-affected areas in the Horn of Africa, including Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.  Successful interventions include permanent vaccination posts along borders of conflict zones, tracking of nomadic population movements, cross-border synchronization during immunization rounds and social mapping of border crossing points.
