Scale-up of COVID-19 vaccination
through integration with routine
immunization & community-based
surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases

Key Achievements

• The project is implemented in three Regional Referral Hospitals across the 3 regions (+1) Vaccination teams consisted of 15 MoH staff and 22 Community Health Workers (CHWs), supervised by the Chief Doctors and MoH Regional Coordinators facilitating project activities
• Capacity building sessions on supply and cold chain management, community engagement and mobilization, and data collection and reporting, conducted for vaccination teams 615 outreach activities were conducted and 1,542 households visited by the vaccination team across the 3 regions.
• Administered 37,787 (20% F, 80% M) COVID-19 doses translating to 99% of the project target of 38,107. 1,273 people reached with integrated PHC services during outreaches. Services offered include ophthalmology, wound treatments and general consultation.
• Vaccinated 9,658 (54% F, 46% M) children (0-5 Years) through integrated routine immunization. This achievement translates to 121% of the total 8,000 Project Target.
